Chloe McCormick
Social Worker/ Therapeutic Support

Background

I’m a recent graduate from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Social Work, and I have a strong passion for working with children and young people. My journey began through years of experience in before and after-school care, along with placements in school-based settings. These roles sparked my commitment to being a strong advocate for young people, supporting them to feel heard, empowered, and connected. I pride myself on creating inclusive, safe, and engaging environments where children and young people feel comfortable expressing themselves and build meaningful relationships. I strive to work collaboratively with each young person to help them identify their goals and take steps toward achieving them, using a strengths-based, youth-focused approach

Special Interests & Hobbies

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me at a music festival or concert—I love live music and discovering new artists. I also share my home with two very loved dogs, Willow and Zena, and have cared for all kinds of pets over the years, including birds, bunnies, and rats! I enjoy collecting Bratz dolls, experimenting with makeup, and playing video games—Phasmophobia with friends is a recent favourite.

Therapeutic Approach & Demographic

As a social worker, my practice is rooted in a strengths-based and client-centred approach. I prioritise empathy, active engagement, and the cultivation of safe, trusting relationships as the foundation for effective intervention. My work focuses on empowering children and families by enhancing their inherent strengths and promoting skill development that supports resilience, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. I utilise collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive strategies to meet clients where they are and support sustainable, positive change within their individual, familial, and community systems.
