Em Power
Therapeutic Support Worker

Background

I am relatively new to the field, but have been motivated by my own experiences with autism, ADHD and health to offer support and help to others! I am committed to providing a kind and calm environment to those in need. As someone who identifies as LGBTIQ+ I am driven to provide a safe support to other members of the community, to make support more accessible and safer for them.

Special Interests and Hobbies

I love animals, nature, precious stones and the outdoors! There is nothing better than a scenic drive with some good music, especially to a nice destination or activity. I also love just spending time at home watching tv with my parrot. I love to collect things that interest me, and enjoy hearing about other’s collections and stories; you can tell me all about your hobbies! In my spare time I also assist a bird rescue, which I take great pride in.

Therapeutic Approach & Demographic

As a support worker, I am committed to empowering individuals by supporting their individuality and fostering personal agency. I believe strongly in the importance of people exercising their free will and making choices that shape their own lives. I provide a calm, steady support to help clients advocate for themselves and reach their goals. I believe that sharing experiences can strengthen individuals, promote personal growth, and help build a connected, supportive community.
